San Antonio Spurs has Beat Miami Heat 125-95

San Antonio Spurs has Beat Miami Heat 125-95Ocimnet.com — Manu Ginobili scored 20 points, Tony Parker made a surprise return to the starting lineup and the San Antonio Spurs handed the skidding Miami Heat their most lopsided loss of the season, 125-95 on Friday night.

In the first meeting between these NBA heavyweights, the Spurs (51-11) improved the league's best record and kept the Heat in a tailspin. A night after blowing a 24-point lead in a stunning loss to Orlando, Miami trailed by 24 after just one quarter and lost for the fourth time in five games.

Parker had 15 points and eight assists. He returned less than a week after the Spurs feared their point guard might miss up to a month with a strained calf.

LeBron James scored 26 points and Dwyane Wade had 19. It won't get much easier for the Heat, who return home to play Chicago on Sunday.

San Antonio also has another tough one Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers. But unlike the Heat, things couldn't be going better for the Spurs.

San Antonio hit a franchise-record 17 3-pointers, including eight during a runaway first quarter. It left the Heat looking as shocked as they did Thursday night while the Magic pulled off the second-biggest comeback in the NBA this season.

The Spurs also got Parker back way earlier than expected – he missed only two games after spraining his left calf on Sunday. San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich joked before tipoff that "the foie grois and truffle treatment really worked" on his French star.

The Heat? They weren't in such a light mood.

Miami's previous worst loss was a 28-point blowout against Denver on Jan. 13. That came in the midst of the Heat's last meltdown, when they were stuck in another stretch of losing four of five.

Ex-Girlfriend Chris Brown Fully Exposed Leaked Photos

Ex-Girlfriend Chris Brown Fully Exposed Leaked Photos
Ocimnet.com - Chris Brown leaked photos are nothing new. But in this case, the Chris Brown leaked photos are in a far different context. The last time he was connected to Internet pictures, it involved the aftermath of his domestic dispute with Rihanna. This time, he is the star of these new pictures, which thankfully have nothing to do with domestic violence. However, these photos do reveal quite a bit more of Brown than he would have liked.

Once again, a celebrity has taken a nude picture of himself and wrongfully thought that it would stay private. In this case, an ex-girlfriend found the image and posted it on the Internet. It was posted as part of a video, hosted by World Star Uncut.
The photos are recent since they show him with his new dyed blonde hair. He is posing naked in the bathroom, likely as part of a "sexting" session. However, one of his ex-girlfriends took the image and exposed him to the online world.

Two years ago, the R&B singer was exposed in other ways after pictures got out from his fight with Rihanna. Her bruised and battered face turned him into a pariah, although things seemed to have finally died down now.

However, the leaked photos aren't the only ones to involve him lately. Days earlier, just as Rihanna's restraining order against him was rescinded, new pictures of her swollen face were posted online. This made the singer go on Twitter and call it a "strategic chess move" by his enemies since "The Devil is always busy."
Yet since those words were ill advised, he took them down from Twitter and replaced them with a message about how "The beauty is inside you." But this didn't stop him from going off on Twitter again.

After the photos went up, he went back to Twitter and wrote "WTF!!! Here we go!!!" But just like before, he deleted his words before they could make him look worse, although it was about eight minutes too late. By then, other blogs had gotten a hold of it and the pictures as well.

The various photos and his responses on Twitter prove social media has not worked well for him. But not much else has worked well for him in the last few years, usually due to his own mistakes. This incident is far from his biggest mistake, although he is still the latest celebrity to be naïve about taking nude pictures.

Sony Action Against Hacker Exposes Visitors to His Web Site

Sony Action Against Hacker Exposes Visitors to His Web SiteOcimnet.com - Caught in the blast of Sony's lawsuit against the man who jailbroke the PlayStation 3 is anyone who may have visited his website, under a court order that set off privacy advocates and further angered hackers.

A federal magistrate in San Francisco ruled Sony may subpoena the IP addresses of everyone who visited George Hotz's personal Web site in the past 26 months. Those who did so and live in Northern California may be especially concerned, as Sony sought the subpoena on grounds to prove that the case belongs in federal court for that jurisdiction, and not in New Jersey, where Hotz (pictured) lives.

The subpoena covers geohot.com and the YouTube account names of anyone who accessed a private video about the jailbreak on Hotz's YouTube account. Additional subpoenas supply Sony with Tweets published by Hotz and information about his account on the Web site PSX-Scene.

Sony said it needed this information to assess "how rampant the access to and use of these circumvention devices has been in California in order to rebut Mr. Hotz's suggestion that his illicit conduct was not aimed at the forum state."

The Electronic Frontier Foundation called Sony's subpoena request "overly broad," and a violation of Hotz's freedom of speech, but to no avail. Sony's request to the magistrate said Hotz himself had agreed not to oppose the subpoenas in exchange for Sony narrowing their scope.

"Weird Rules" Can Help You Boost Your Creativity

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 10:33 AM PST

Ocimnet.com - Almost 10 years ago Stanford professor Robert Sutton wrote about "Weird ideas that work." Today many companies who are leaders in creativity still utilize many of his guidelines for fostering new ideas within their organization.

Some of the guidelines include:
  • Reward success and failure; punish inaction,
  • Find some happy people and get them to fight,
  • Ignore people who have solved the exact problem you face,
  • Hire "slow learners" (of organizational code),
  • Seek out ways to avoid, distract, and bore customers.
  • These rules which fight against the normal corporate norms, have been proven to foster creativity within organizations.

Science News Camel urine its use in medicine

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 10:22 AM PST

Science News Camel urine its use in medicineOcimnet.com - What are the pros and cons of using camel urine as a medicament? The question was recently tackled in the journal Dirasat – a peer-reviewed research journal published by the Deanship of Academic Research, University of Jordan.

In Vol 37, No 1, 2010, authors Mohammad A. Al-Natshah, and Isma'eel M. Al-Braishi, examine the history and philosophical aspects of its use in their paper: A Look at the Tradition Narrated by Okal and Oraynah, Medical Treatment by Impurities Filthy Things where they explain:

"Treatment by camels urine in particular is permissible by sharia scholars. As for being pure, the Sharia scholars were in disagreement as some of they said its pure while others said they are impure. Those who supported using it for treatment rested at the fact that it can be administered if patient is very ill though medical products are so advanced. The research goes a head by narrating, discussing and giving evidence, that the camels urine is impure but despite that filthy things can be used in pharmaceuticals." [sic, various]

Building on the historical guidelines, practical progress in applied camel urine usage has also recently been made. Research by Dr. Faten Abdel-Rahman Khorshid, associate professor at the King Fahd Medical Research Center, Department of Medical Biology, Faculty of Medicine, Medical Center, King Abdulaziz University (KAAU), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has determined that camel urine contains nano-particles which might be effective against certain types of cancerous cells. The 'active ingredient' in the urine – identified by its codename PM701 – has already been tested in humans: See: Khorshid, F., H. Alshazly, A. Al Jefery and A.M.M. Osman, 2010. Dose escalation phase I study in healthy volunteers to evaluate the safety of a natural product PM701. Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology, 5 ( 3 ): 91 – 97, 2010.

In order to further promote its medical potential in the fight against cancer worldwide, professor Khorshid has also applied for a swathe of international patents. Here is the US application – covering "an absolutely novel use of camel urine" – it focuses on PM701 obtained from the adult single-humped Arabian camel (Camelus dromedarius) found roaming natural pastures near Jeddah. 'Separation and formulation of bioactive fraction and subfraction from camel urine work as anticancer agent' (US patent app. 2009/0297622 A1)

Pokemon.Marriland.com TheSpeedGamers - Catchin' em all for Charity

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 10:00 AM PST

About Pokemon.Marriland.com TheSpeedGamers - Catchin' em all for CharityPokemon.Marriland.com TheSpeedGamers - Catchin' em all for Charity, With just a few more days to go until the release of Pokemon Black and White, there's been a lot of work behind the scenes making updates left and right. But off in another corner of the internet, something else is brewing ― an organization known as TheSpeedGamers are getting their retro on and are going to be streaming their combined playthroughs of the first and second generation Pokemon games to catch all 251 Pokemon in 72 hours. They're doing it live and they're doing it for charity, with a goal of raising $15,000 over the course of the event for ALSA (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

They've done events like this before and have raised plenty of money for some great causes and charities, so this March 11th - March 14th, starting at 6:00pm Central Time, go ahead and check out TheSpeedGamers play live!

You can find out more information, as well as see a cool trailer for the event, over on this update of their website. It has more details than I can provide, that's for sure, but definitely give them a moment of your time!

Now, for other news, there's been so much going on over the past two weeks that it's hard to come up with a full summary. I'll just say I've updated the Pokemon Black and White Walkthrough so it is now using ALL of the likely English names for Gym Leaders, cities, locations, and the Elite Four. Rather than list them here, you can just go through and find the differences yourself, because there's really too much to list. There's a chance these names may not be the final names, but all of the leaked names have matched up with some of the officially confirmed names during the last two weeks that it's probably easier at this point fixing one or two false names than worrying about having Japanese names still floating around.

Pokemon.Marriland.com is also on a newer, faster server, and I've been working diligently to make sure that the site will be able to handle the massive influx of traffic that Black and White are likely to bring. This means pages should load really fast from now on and there should be minimal lag and chance of outage, even during the busiest days. Hopefully this works out to be as good as it's looking, because it's of the utmost importance providing you with as much Black and White content as possible!

I'll also be working over the next week or two on upgrading the Pokedex (including, perhaps, older generation ones), adding new calculators and tools while also upgrading older ones so they are Black and White compatible, and, probably a week after the game's release (March 6th!), I'll be doing some videos, which you'll be able to watch here on the site.

By the way, one more thing to point out. The Pokemon Black and White Tour is still going on across the USA and other regions! It's a lot of fun and, from the sounds of it, a fantastic event! What a great way to see some of the fun new things that Pokemon Black and White have to offer, while also getting a chance to meet fellow fans in droves!

My friends over at 1UP have posted some great coverage of the tour along with pictures and more! Definitely check it out if you'd like to see what's waiting for you at the event.

That's all for now, folks. I'll have more updates, either behind the scenes (like they've been) or publicly announced ones, in the coming days and weeks! The final week is now upon us! Huzzah!

Manchester City Yaya Toure Jumps To The Defense Of His Brother Kolo Over Failed Drugs Test
Manchester City star Yaya Toure insists his brother is innocent of cheating after it was revealed that team-mate Kolo failed a drugs test after the Manchester United game.

It is believed that Kolo took one of his wife's diet pills - unaware they contained a banned substance. The defender is currently suspended by his club while they await the results of a second sample.

"Kolo is a sane person - he did not use any substance that was illegal," Yaya stated to the English press.

"My brother is damaged. And the squad is affected because Kolo is an important man for us and one of our captains. So we want a quick solution to this problem.

"We all have confidence in Kolo. I am at Manchester City due to the insistence of my brother. For me it will be very hard to play without him in the team."

Kolo Toure's personal manager Valer Gourizro says the club are supporting the defender through this difficult period, "Kolo's reputation speaks for itself and we're positive about that - he's a clean player.

"He's got everybody around him - his family, friends, the club, everything. Everybody in the game loves him.

"He's lucky that he's got Yaya as well as Patrick Vieira, who he played with at Arsenal. It's good to have them around him at the moment.

"The coach, Roberto Mancini, likes him and I spoke to Brian Marwood at City last night.

"He said that the club will stand by Kolo and they know that he gives 100 per cent and does a lot of work for the club."

Jewelers Found Guilty of Mimicking a Heist from the Movie Snatch

Jewelers Found Guilty of Mimicking a Heist from the Movie SnatchRemember the opening scene of Snatch? The robbery with men dressed up as Hasidic Jews? Someone guys mimicked that in real life—and got caught.

Apparently New York Jewelers Atul Shah and Mahaveer Kankariya were struggling with such huge debts that they only saw one solution: To hire a bunch of thugs, stage a robbery, and collect about $7 million from their insurance company.

They would've gotten away with the whole thing if it weren't for some tough security cameras.

The footage from those security cameras gave authorities a play-by-play of the entire heist as well as a look into the moments during which Shah and Kankariya removed all precious items from their safe and left only empty boxes to be "stolen" a few hours later:

The robbers [had] poured draining fluid over the cameras in the hope of destroying them, but the motherboard survived intact, managing to capture the incriminating evidence of both the heist and the switch.

The actual heist was described as "a joke" by a judge.

It apparently consisted of Shah and Kankariya calmly buzzing the hired thugs—who were dressed as Hasidic Jews—into their business offices and briefly leaving them alone in the room with the unlocked safe for unknown reasons. (The jewelers later claimed that they did this because they thought the thugs were simply couriers.)

Once no longer alone in the safe room, the thugs pulled out their guns and proceeded to "threaten" Shah, Kankariya, and their employee—who was unaware of the staged nature of the heist—into handing them the empty jewelry boxes from the already unlocked safe.

The thugs then rushed out—to never be seen again—while the jewelers planned out the rest of their insurance scam without knowing that the security footage showing how the heist played out was intact.

Eventually authorities and insurance investigators discovered the footage. The two men were then arrested and found guilty of seven counts of grand larceny, insurance fraud and other crimes. They will face up to 15 years in jail. [Daily Mail]
