I have made 66 training schedules which includes Youth as well as Senior Training Schedules. So what I've done is make 11 basic schedules for certain player positions(mentioned below) and multiply those as Regular(11), Injured(11) and Pre-Season(11) for Senior(33) as well as Youth players(33) which makes 66. What is the benefit of Pre-Season Schedules? Pre-Season training is something I had absolutely wonderful results with in FM 2010! Pre-Season, of course, is the period between the players coming back from holiday and when the actual competitive season kicks off. There are Friendly matches during pre-season. We usually get a good 2 months of Pre-Season when you can apply these Schedules and see the effects. What I have effectively done, is increase the focus on Strength and Aerobics for pre-season while keeping other training categories around the same but also increasing some of them 'cos either way there will be 'Very Heavy' Workload. Intense Physical Training is always best done during Pre-Season. Those having problems with Squad Fitness Levels and Stamina of players will find this very helpful and around 2 years in, you can visibly see the team lasting longer on the field as well as during the course of the season. For me, half the squad would increase in one or more out of Strength/Stamina/Pace/Agility and other physical attributes like that during and for the first few months after every pre-season. Why use Injured Training Schedules? Injured schedules are so that you can put players returning back from injury into these regimes so that they aren't directly put back into the usual workload. I usually put injured players into this schedule the very day they get injured, not that it affects them while they're not in training(but who knows? ) but so I don't have to keep it in mind till he returns to training. It really helps in the rehab especially after long term injuries. Workload for specific Schedules? The Workload I have kept for the Regular schedules are right at the brink between Medium and Heavy. It's Medium, but if you increase even one slider, the Workload becomes Heavy. Of course, you can adjust this once you've imported the schedules. For Injured Schedules, Workload is still Medium but near the halfway mark in the Workload slider. For Pre-Season, though, the Workload is the Heaviest possible as there is no competitive matches and no fatigue to worry about for a long time. However, of course, you can drag back the Workload slider if you don't prefer the heaviest or say if you want to reduce it before Friendly matches, etc What are the Schedules? The 11 basic Schedules I mentioned are: GKs Centrebacks Fullbacks Wingbacks Def Midfielders Centre Midfield Att Midfielders Wing Midfielder Support Striker Centre Forward Target Man Then, there are GK Injured CB Injured FB Injured...... and so on just like the regulars with abbreviations for all positions and GK Pre-Season CB Pre-Season FB Pre-Season...... and so on Youth Training? For youths, I have adopted a sensitive yet effective approach. The Schedules' names are similar with just a 'Y' at the beginning. So Y GK, Y Fullbacks... and Y DM Injured, Y CF Injured... and Y WM Pre-Season, Y SS Pre-Season and so on and so forth... Screenshots? First off we have to ask what is a good corner strategy? Try to have three big targets in the box, one on Near Post Flick-On, the strongest on Challenge GK, and a third on Forward. Add to that a real shooter on "Attack Near Post", and somebody with Headers and Finishing at "Stand on Far Post", and you have four goalscoring threats plus a good Ian Rush like poacher.  What kind of a player makes a good freekick taker? With free-kicks, there are other options to consider and all of these affect the outcome. Should the player shoot, tee up another player for a shot, cross, play wide left or right. Affecting this decision would be decisions, creativity, flair, and possibly anticipation. If he shoots, which part of the goal does he aim for. I would say that decisions and free-kicks affect this. If he decides he is going to shoot, and he knows where he wants to put it, does he blast it or try a delicate placed shot. I suppose what affects this is decisions, freekicks and technique. Once he has decided that he will shoot, what part of the goal he will aim at and whether he will blast it or place it, we have the following attributes to consider that will effect the outcome. Finishing, free-kicks, long-shots, technique and composure. Penalty takers you say? The first conclusion I came to was that although composure IS important, it is nowhere near as important as it is when taking penalty kicks. In my view, the composure attribute is, (believe this or not), more important than the penalty attribute when deciding the result of a spot kick. Conclusions Well with regards to freekicks and corners there is a bunch of crazy theory in there but in all honesty you will find that the attacking corner setup works a treat.  After all the fury, the anguish, the outrage and the indignation came the reason.The reason why England and Spain were overlooked as World Cup hosts in favour of Russia. It turns out it was nothing to do with Panorama, corruption, broken promises or petro-dollars. It was because the English and Spanish could not organise a booze up in a brewery (ED knows that is not the preferred terminology, but this is a family blog). Actually, ED has always thought getting people drunk at a brewery might be a bit of a logistical nightmare (do they have enough glasses?), but ED digresses. No, the task failed in both countries at the weekend was much easier than that - it involved simply staging a football match, something they do hundreds of times every year. Let us start in Spain, where the 'Manana' mentality reached its absurd conclusion as Barcelona pitched up late for their game at Osasuna. Wildcat strikes by air traffic controllers left Barca apparently unable to make the relatively short trip to Pamplona for the game (if only there were other modes of transport?), and on Saturday lunchtime they announced the game had been postponed until 5pm on Sunday. Barcelona's rather smug motto is 'Mes que un club', meaning 'More than a club', and on Saturday they attempted to show that they were also the league secretary, unilaterally shifting fixtures around as they pleased. Like a Hollywood agent cancelling his one-o'clock, they decided they were simply too busy to bother with Osasuna and bumped them to Sunday. The Spanish FA quickly issued a statement insisting nothing of the sort had been agreed, and Barca were required at the Estadio Reyno de Navarra in time for the 7pm kick-off. A federation spokesman muttered darkly: "If Barca don't turn up, the disciplinary committee will have to decide what to do." What followed was a slightly rubbish Catalan version of Planes, Trains and Automobiles as they took a train and an automobile to make the 300-mile trip. They were pictured sprinting down a rail platform at Zaragoza and eventually pitched up at the ground two minutes after the scheduled kick-off - the game finally got under way some 50 minutes late. While all this was taking place, Spanish airspace did actually open up again - only Barca were already on the train. Mercifully for all concerned (apart from Osasuna), Barcelona won, but it was a bona fide farce. Barcelona vice president Jordi Cardoner pointed the finger at the federation, saying: "At 1.30 in the afternoon, the federation confirmed the postponement to our president and at 3 o'clock for unknown reasons they changed their opinion and told us the match would go ahead as planned. "Obviously there has been a misunderstanding," he added, somewhat unnecessarily. Pep Guardiola had a few choice words, while the federation admitted they had suggested the postponement but Osasuna refused to accept it. Eventually Barcelona president Sandro Rosell manned up and accepted responsibility, which sounds honorable enough, except his apology was basically "I'm sorry everyone else was so stupid.": "I take all the responsibility for what happened in the hours leading up to Saturday's game. I managed our dealings with the federation, I trusted the federation and AENA (the Spanish airport authority). We will draw conclusions for the future." Those conclusions, no doubt, are of the incendiary kind that could pitch up on WikiLeaks once Julian Assange has finished bringing down western civilisation. Barca are clearly not blameless. If they had really wanted the match to go ahead, they could have just travelled on Friday. The journey should take less than five hours by road - roughly the amount of time any Fulham fan would have budget if they were stupid enough to drive to Islington for Saturday's game at Arsenal. But delaying the match allowed them an extra day to recover from their Clasico exertions, and gave Lionel Messi 24 more hours to shrug off an ankle knock. Plus it would have given them an excuse to field a complete reserve XI for their Champions League game against Rubin Kazan on Tuesday - they are already guaranteed to top their group. But the whole farrago would have been avoided had either side bothered to pick up the phone, or send a text, fax or carrier pigeon. - - - Over in England, we had precisely the opposite problem as Blackpool's game against Manchester United was postponed when it shouldn't have been. Referee Peter Walton called the game off on Friday when he feared parts of the Bloomfield Road pitch might still be frozen when the game kicked off. Had he waited, he would have seen that the widely-anticipated thaw occurred which, in conjunction with some hot air blowers, would easily have achieved an acceptable playing surface. While this was less spectacular a cock-up than that in Spain, it was arguably worse, as it resulted in a game (a televised one, at that) being called off for no reason. World Cup? The latest fad to go viral on the social networking site has users changing their profile pictures to images of their favorite childhood cartoon characters.  And judging from today's Google trends and Twitter traffic, Facebook users across the site are enjoying the animated walk down memory lane. Earlier this morning, "cartoons from the 90s," "80s cartoons," "hong kong phooey," "care bear pictures" and plenty of other cartoon-related phrases dominated Google's list of hot searches. On Facebook, images of the Flintstones, Thundercats, the Smurfs and other classic cartoon characters are taking over users' news feeds. According to the trend-tracking website Know Your Meme, the cartoon fad started with Facebook users in Greece and Cyprus in mid-November. Cartoon Message Says Campaign Is to Stop Violence Against Children The site said the original message was in Greek and translated to "From the 16th to the 20th of November, we shall change our profile pictures to our favourite cartoon characters. The purpose of this game is to remove all photos of human for a few days from Facebook." On November 19, All Facebook noticed a slightly different cartoon message sweeping the site. "NewGame: Change your profile picture to your favorite cartoon from when you were a kid. The goal of this game is not to see a human picture on Facebook, but an invasion of childhood memories until Monday. PLAY AND PASS ALONG!" Messages posted include a cause in the call to action. "Change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon character from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same. Until Monday, Dec 6th of 2010, there should be no human faces on facebook, but an invasion of memories! This is for a campaign against violence on children." The origin of this latest message is murky, but, as with most Facebook memes, that isn't stopping Facebook users from joining the online movement.  |
