 Pemain LA Galaxy yang sedang menjalani latihan di Tottenham Hotspur, David Beckham, menjadi pahlawan bagi Paul Long, seorang fans setia "Spurs". Beckham menyelamatkan Long dan keluarganya dari kecelakaan mobil, Rabu (9/2/2011). Long pun sangat berterima kasih kepada mantan penggawa Manchester United tersebut.Beckham sedang mengendarai mobilnya di London. Tiba-tiba, dia melihat ada mobil yang kecelakaan dan segera berhenti. Tanpa raghu, Beckham mendatangi mobil naas itu dan mencoba menyelamatkan penumpangnya. "Kami sudah berada di dalam mobil selama 10 menit. Lalu, tiba-tiba dia datang. Saya berkata, 'Anda David Beckham!' Kemudian dia bertanya 'Apakah Anda baik-baik saja?'," tutur Long. "Saya menjawab, 'Ya tapi dapatkan Anda mengeluarkan kami dari sini?' Dia berkata 'Saya akan mencoba'," lanjutnya. "Saya diliputi emosi. Saya mengucapkan terima kasih kepada David. 'Saya mencintaimu, kawan!' Saya kira dia agak malu. Anak-anak saya pun terpesona melihatnya," tambah pria berusia 46 tahun tersebut. Beberapa jam berselang, juru bicara Beckham mengkonfirmasi bahwa sang bintang menghentikan mobilnya untuk menyelamatkan satu keluarga dari kecelakaan.  | |

Steven Cloak, 26, is recovering well from cranioplasty surgery to insert a titanium plate into his skull to reform the area which was earlier removed to relieve pressure on his brain. Steven had been the victim of an assault by Jack Hobbs, a 16-year-old who attacked him simply because he did not like the way he looked at him. Recovering well: Steven Cloak can be seen following his life saving surgery on the left, and after his operation to insert a titanium plate on the right The horrific injuries Steven suffered were so shocking that Judge Phillip Wassall said there were too prejudicial to show the jury.  Today Hobbs was named as he was jailed for for five years for causing grievous bodily harm with intent .However he will be released on license in just 30 months time. Judge Philip Wassall told him: 'It was a matter of luck that this man did not die, you could be here being sentenced for murder. Alcohol is no excuse. It was a chilling thing to listen to. 'It was a murderous attack on him.' He said Hobbs came back to kick the unconscious victim which was a 'plainly wicked thing to do'. Steven was walking home with a Chinese takeaway meal in his hand when Hobbs attacked him in February last year. Hobbs, also from the town, had been downing beer and sambuca with friends when he launched the unprovoked assault before he tried to cover up his actions. Hobbs punched Steven twice and he fell to the ground, banging his head just yards from the safety of his home. Hobbs walked off but returned seconds later and put the boot in to Steven's head - before running away telling his gang of mates to keep silent about what he had done  Hobbs, now 17, put his blood stained trainers and clothes in the washing machine at home but forensic scientists still found traces of blood on the shoes.At the scene he had wiped away some blood from his shoes before he fled - but some of his mates gave evidence against him as he tried to claim he had acted in self defence. Steven has no memory of the incident or the previous months of his life and could not give evidence. But Hobbs told Exeter Crown Court: 'I thought he was going to hit me. He appeared to be looking at me, it was an intimidating look. I went to confront him.' He also claimed he had used his foot to move Steven's head on the ground - but witnesses said he put the boot in on the 'motionless and unconscious' victim. Prosecutor David Evans said: "The sad truth is this 16 year old was fired up in drink and playing the hardman.' After the case Steven's mum Margaret said: 'Steven is doing very well. Things have been difficult but I think how lucky we are - it could have been such a different scenario. He can't play football or sport. 'He will never completely recover from it but whether he will remember the attack only time will tell. It was an absolutely unprovoked attack and people can't be allowed to do it.' After the attack around 500 protesters marched through the streets in Bideford to reclaim it from anti social behaviour in Steven's name.  HP beberapa saat yang lalu baru saja secara resmi mengumumkan produk tablet terbarunya yaitu HP TouchPad yang berbasis webOS. Pengumuman ini dilakukan di sebuah acara di San Francisco dengan tema "Think Big. Think Small. Think Beyond". Perangkat yang dijadwalkan hadir pada pertengahan tahun 2011 ini memiliki layar sentuh kapasitif berukuran 9,7 inci dengan resolusi 1024 x 768 piksel. Dimensinya adalah 240mm x 190mm x 13.7mm dengan berat sekitar 740 gram. Spesifikasi HP TouchPad ini mirip dengan tablet Apple iPad, bahkan satu-satunya tombol di bagian depannya juga mirip yang berfungsi sebagai tombol "Home". Spesifikasi lain dari tablet ini adalah prosesor Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core 1.2GHz, RAM 512MB, dan dibuat dalam dua model yaitu 16GB dan 32GB. Selain dilengkapi kamera depan 1,3MP untuk panggilan video, TouchPad juga memakai baterai 6300mAh yang diklaim bisa tahan hingga 8 jam. Untuk koneksi, TouchPad dilengkapi wifi 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth dan slot kartu SIM untuk koneksi broadband. Selain itu juga ada port microUSB untuk bertukaran data melalui kabel. Aplikasi yang disematkan di dalamnya cukup banyak, di antaranya TIME magazine, Sports Illustrated, Angry Birds dan Facebook selain aplikasi e-reader Amazon Kindle.  Selain tablet HP TouchPad, HP juga mengumumkan kehadiran HP Veer, smartphone berbasis webOS 2.1 dengan ukuran mungil yang bisa jadi merupakan yang terkecil hingga saat ini. Dengan ukuran sebesar kartu kredit, smartphone ini masih memiliki papan ketik QWERTY slider. Meski kecil namun perangkat ini memiliki media penyimpan 8GB dan prosesor Snapdragon 7230 (800MHz) dengan RAM sama seperti pada Palm Pre 2. Selain itu juga terdapat koneksi Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, HSDPA+ termasuk accelerometer dan sensor cahaya.  HP Veer merupakan smartphone kedua yang menawarkan Mini Me. Sebelum ini Sony Ercisson Xperia X10 Mini telah muncul dengan fitur ini dan mendapat sambutan bagus. Oleh karena itu diperkirakan perangkat ini juga akan bisa bersaing dengan smartphone yang berukuran lebih besar.
